Lanvin "Black Butterflies" Window Display

It's almost burdensome (don't laugh) to be intensely inspired. Does that make sense? You feel so desperate to have your imagination come to life, to be understood and to bring to life the thoughts swirling in your head. I love the line in the Avengers, "I am burdened with glorious purpose." It makes me laugh every time, because I just love the eloquence and the wording of it. And I don't know about other people, but that saying is pretty much my life. Not that I think I am better than any one in any way, shape, or form. But I feel literally burdened by all of the ideas and beauty and wonder in the world, and I feel so helpless when I try to imagine how I would even attempt to put it into a form people would understand.

All that being said, I absolutely adore Lanvin's new window displays. Mostly because they remind me of my butterfly sculpture that I made last summer. I used recycled soda cans to create the forms, and then spray painted them black before mounting them on the wall. I was inspired by Paul Villinsky's butterflies, and it seems that I was not the only one!
The new Lanvin windows at the rue du Foubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris have just been unveiled, of course by the hands of Alber Elbaz. These lovely windows give us a little peak into the world of Lanvin. For the new windows, Lanvin was inspired by the Fall 2013-14 collection in which dresses are adorned with butterfly prints.

3 Year Anniversary

Ben and I shared our 3 year anniversary today. We had a great time shopping and exploring Savannah, Ga! We did a little antiquing, and walked along River Street. Savannah is a beautiful city, rich in art and history, and you should go if you ever get the chance!
