Little Red

What do y'all think of my window design concept? This is part of a project for my visual merchandising course. Among other things, we have to come up with a detailed plan for a window display, including a theme, color scheme, and include design elements such as balance, shape, and line. I've always liked the whole "dark fairy tale" idea, and movies like "Snow White and the Huntsman" and "Red Riding Hood" have recently made it popular. Obviously, this is a bare-bones style board, but it helps me to visualize it all better. We decided to do a vintage store, because well, they're better, and we would have more freedom as far as the clothes we advertised.
It's a modern take on a classic. We have the dapper wolf, and the lace and crimson clad Red. The background will be dark, maybe with some Christmas lights to give a little depth. I'll create branches from cardboard boxes and spray paint them black to create a black forest mask around the window. Then we can focus on the mannequins, and have a solitary light illuminating them.

I Saw Her Standing There/50th post!

Hello! It's been awhile since my last post, school has been absolutely ridiculous. So many group projects! And guess what?! It's my 50th post! OHTBL is still in the process of renovation, but I'm so proud of how far it has come in the past few months. Thank you to all who stop by, I hope I will continue to amuse/inspire you in some way!

Man, oh man, you're my best friend

"Alabama, Arkansas, I do love my Ma & Pa
Not the way that I do love you"

Ok, so I am mildly obsessed with houndstooth, and this dress that I got at Entourage is perfect! It's soft and a thicker than other knits, so it will be perfect to wear with tights and boots when the chilly weather comes through!

Watermark

Watermark by Enya on Grooveshark
This song is what I feel Jesus will be like. The way it makes you feel is more powerful than any written word; to try to describe it would do it injustice.

It was always you.

This half of the year, we don't have much to look forward to until Christmas. Come January, it's Ben's birthday, Valentine's Day, my birthday, and then our real anniversary, all in the span of a couple months. So I wanted to do something special on our 2 and a half year anniversary, since Ben has been so sweet and supportive of me, and because we both needed a little cheering up.

Typography Assignment

This was our second assignment in my Typography course. It really encompassed everything that goes into making a font, which is WAY harder than it looks. We had to visually correct and refine letters to produce a legible and readable font, which takes many many drafts and steps, which you can observe below.
